We store all the documents you maintain with OctoPass in a highly encrypted digital vault. To open the vault, you need a master password that only you know and that is never sent to us. We are therefore unable to open the vault. We have no access to the documents stored in the vault. Attacks on our databases are futile.
What is a password manager for?
Identity theft is often very simple: “123456” or “password” are often chosen passwords, more complex passwords are used on several applications, hackers have an easy game. It is difficult to remember different passwords or to generate secure passwords. A password manager solves the problem, a master password encrypts all other accesses.
Why contract management?
As with the password, it’s hard to keep track of all your contracts. Subscriptions therefore continue to run and you are still a member of the sports club in your previous place of residence. A central contract storage point solves the problem, as access is also possible with just one password. More importantly, however, the contracts can be managed automatically or semi-automatically, including termination and relocation service in the event of a change of address or bank details.
Why a digital safe?
Because it’s good to have one place for everything important and to always be able to access it safely from anywhere. Lost your passport abroad? Just access the safe and at least a copy is there. Access is easy, the benefits are great.
Why a digital estate?
Because it is difficult for heirs to get an overview of the life of a deceased relative. And because it is important to deregister contracts, close bank accounts and arrange the last things. This becomes very easy if the transfer of the password and contract manager to the heir is regulated. Cryptographic techniques make it possible for only the right people to gain access – but then to everything at the click of a button. That’s what OctoPass does.

Our users can save both their encrypted vault and our web application on their devices and use them offline, even if our service is unavailable or completely suspended. In this unlikely event, many functions would be lost, but access to the data stored in the vault would still be possible.
- Download the zip file to your computer and unzip it.
- Open your Chrome browser and click on the puzzle piece icon in the top right-hand corner. Then select "Manage extensions".
- Switch on developer mode in the top right-hand corner and click on "Load unpacked extension."
- Select the unzipped folder.
- The extension is now available. To access it, click the "On" button in the extension box.
