The idea

It was a gray November day in 2020 and three men were sitting at dinner talking about data, how to handle it, data octopuses and how to deal with it, but above all about the question: How can I pass all this on one day? So that it is handled or continued in my interests.

The gloomy projection of a dark data octopus was overlaid with the gentle image of a good octopus, a white knight of the data octopus world. An idea was born: if everyone is a data octopus, then everyone should be his or her own data octopus.

But how can something like this be implemented?

Digital life is determined by logins. In other words, passwords. Anyone who has access to someone’s passwords has access to their identity. So nothing is more important than protecting passwords, keeping them safe and passing them on at some point. And along with the passwords, one or two secrets.

Good data octopus and password manager = OctoPass. So much for finding a name.

There are many password managers. Some are built into the machines of the dark data octopuses. Some are really good. OctoPass is good and goes one step further. The good news is: you only have to do this work once. OctoPass keeps it safe and hidden for as long as you live. Even in the unlikely event that OctoPass is discontinued: The data in the vault will still be available to you. Furthermore, you can adjust and change the data at any time.

Only then without additional services such as inheritance or contract management.
